It appears the map is completely intact for the moment, so once we get the server running again, we will be able to pick up where we left off. Give me a day folks and we should have this underway again.

Linux appears to hate me, the server is not coming back anytime soon. I will work on it tonight and hopefully get a full install back. Checking the map files to see if they are intact. Please don’t go.
After a strange issue cropped up, the minecraft server is currently down and is being worked on. I am doing this through the command line and may take some time to complete. I will post here when this is complete and the server is back up and running. Sorry for the downtime, hope to have it back shortly.
After several months of testing, Notch has pushed Minecraft, one of the most addicting games in recent memory, from the Alpha stage into beta with the promise of more rapid releases of content into the already massively popular game. The game has become very successful with only word-of-mouth referrals and a few plugs in popular trade magazines such as PC Gamer.
If you haven’t heard of Minecraft yet, then you must’ve been living (and gaming) under a rock as news of this game has spread like a genetically engineered bio-weapon. With a unique feel and style of gameplay, Minecraft is sure to have a long life of popularity within the community. Check it out at www.minecraft.net and see what the rest of the world knows that you don’t.
My newest 80, Hordesbane, is now questing in Hyjal and is moving nicely through the XP. He was almost 81 before he left Northrend and is now half-way to 82. I’m really looking forward to going through Uldum before too long after going down to Deepholm. I can’t wait to sink my teeth into some of these new raids and Our group will probably venture back into Northrend at some point to get the Kingslayer title for some of my compatriots who still require it.
My Night Elf Druid, Exalar, has already been through the Hyjal area, having completed each and every quest that was available. He has begun to delve into Deepholm with is very cool looking. After Deepholm we should be moving into Uldum, which is supposed to have an Egypt flavor to it. Really looking forward to it. I think I’ve said that more than once now.
Anyway, I found a mirror to the Zeror level progression map I mentioned before and you can find it at http://mitarn.files.wordpress.com/2010/11/levelflow.jpg. Check it out.
After several harrowing weeks, I completed the CompTIA Security+ track and am now certified. The concepts and knowledge is something I’ve had for some time, but the actual terminology and practical application of those concepts was lacking. I didn’t particularly care for the learning path as there was a lot of things to cover with much reading each week. Each segment had several chapters to read and practice quizes, lab and virtual machine work, and video segments to watch. Nothing in particular struck me as poor, but after doing the stuff day in and day out for 5+ weeks was killing me. I am not a fast ready so the endless stream of chapters to read were considerably painful to complete. But it is all over now and I am permanently Security+ certified. It will go nicely with my CompTIA A+ cert which I have held since 1999.
After a few days of traipsing around Mount Hyjal, I have to say that, thus far, this installment of World of Warcraft is quite fun. This does happen to be the first time I went questing with a group of 5 versus soloing most everything prior to dungeons and raids. I have been back and forth between MH and the Sunken City of Vashj’ir and find both areas to be enjoyable. Since I am back to exploring things again, this enjoyment may not be so much when I am grinding it for the third or fourth time bringing other toons to 85. My first toon to go to 85 will be my first toon from the start, Exalar, on the Suramar Realm. So far he is about half way to 83 and moving nicely. I expect our group to proceed into Deepholm before too long and all points further. If my current progress keeps up, and I expect it not to, I should be 85 within a few weeks at most. Our server had a level 85 within the first day by the toon name of Unpleasant (I believe, I can’t remember exactly). Gratz to him on that achievement, so long as he did it legitimately. I wish exploitation of these types of games wasn’t so prevalent. Anywhoo, I have to say I’m lovin’ Hyjal and Vashj’ir and hope this rate of XP continues for a few more days at least. Do yourself a favor and check out the level progression map from Zeror on mmo-champion. Nicely done and very useful. (I’d link it myself expect I can’t get there while at work
I will be posting an article in the near future itemizing each of the talents in the feral tree and their suitability for Bear tanking. Keep an eye out for that one in the next few days.
After a strange and damaging fail on the part of my blog, we will have to have another go ’round. We are starting from scratch. I though about putting some effort into recovering the files and articles from my old blog before thrusting Frostmourne into it, but then I am lazy and many of those articles are out of date. I spent quite a bit of time preparing the Alienware entries and they will be missed. However, we are moving forward and we will not be looking back. I am sorry for the loss of all that research I put into the m9700 sound issue. I will still answer questions about it and provide as much assistance as I can. That part of my life has gone on long enough. I have new things to occupy my time and effort with.
Such as:
There are some great game releases scheduled in the near future, too. Starcraft II, Diablo III, and others. Busy, busy, busy.
